Arthritis Boom with the Baby Boomers

Baby Boomers are beginning to enter their golden years and they are bringing a boom of arthritis with them. Arthritis is the painful inflammation of the joints, due to the deterioration of cartilage. Physicians expect to see a rise in arthritis as the baby boomers reach “senior citizen” status and the numbers are startling. Baby boomers currently make up 20.5 million of the individuals who suffer from arthritis. Over the next 20 years, as the rest of the baby boomers come of age, there will likely be an additional 2 million more diagnosed with arthritis.

Baby boomers need to take a proactive approach to arthritis. Whether they presently have arthritis, or not, lifestyle changes are a must for baby boomers. Healthcare providers suggest that the boomers discuss supplements with their doctors. Products such as Liquid Glucosamine Formula Synflex®, are popular among the mature generations because it does not have the adverse side effects of the prescription drugs.
