Today marked the start of our second National Team training camp here in Lake Placid. The camp will only last two weeks but our coaches have put together a very challenging program, which will surely test everyone.
Throughout the two weeks we will be completing many of the same “tests” that we have done for the last year in order to establish our current level and measure improvement from our Colorado training camp. These tests will be a good indicator for me to evaluate how effective my training has been for the last two months.
I am really excited going into this camp because my training has been going very well and I feel that I have made significant improvements from our last
training camp in Colorado. It should be fun to test myself against the
other guys and see where I stack up. During the last month I have trained more than I have ever trained for that same amount of time. I am really happy with how my body handled the training and I feel that I will need to continue to push the training hours in order to make it to the next level.
After this training camp I will get my “summer break” where I have no organized training for a week. Our coaches always schedule a few of these breaks throughout the year to give us both a physical and mental break.
After my break, I will stay here in Lake Placid for another few weeks of training on my own and then I will head to our Sweden camp in the beginning of August.
I’m off to another workout now but I will be sure to update at the end of the camp to let you know how all of my testing went.
Thanks for all of your support!
