Arthritis Doníts. Must Read!

If you have arthritis, it is important to have some type of checklist of things to avoid, such as certain activities and foods that may cause flare-ups. Having a checklist may help make life a little easier. After all, living with any form of arthritis can be extremely difficult at times. When you visit your doctor, does he/she suggest things that you should do that may help ease the pain? Like trying simple exercises and eating correctly. What about the things that should be avoided?† Here is a brief list of things that you should avoid, whether it is food, drinks or activities.

  • Jumping
  • Tennis (repetitive stress on the elbow). Try alternating sports activities.
  • Don’t run, walk!
  • †Be sure to talk with your doctor about what activities you can do. Inactivity can lead to muscle atrophy.
  • Do not use acetaminophen, aspirin or NSAIDS on a daily basis without talking with your doctor first.
  • Do not ignore your pain; always listen to your body.
  • Do not smoke; the toxins in smoke cause stress on connective tissue.
  • Avoid gaining weight; start eating healthy!
  • Avoid getting cortisone shots regularly, “cortisone inactivates vitamin D, hampers calcium absorption and inhibits growth hormone, which is important for bone repair.”
  • Do not drink too much soda or coffee! Caffeine is a common culprit when it comes to aggravating your arthritis.
  • Pass on that lemon with your water! Some fruits are high in acidity, which is also known to trigger arthritis pain.

These are just a few precautions that all arthritis sufferers should keep an eye on. There are many people that are also adding natural supplements into their daily diets. Liquid Glucosamine has become very popular. To read more about Liquid Glucosamine, click here
